CD Projekt Will Iron Out Witcher 3 Pop In & Frame Rate Issues On PS4, High-end PC Required For 60fps

"The game won’t kill your PC if you have a lower end machine."

Witcher 3

A few weeks ago we reported that the PS4 version currently suffers from slight frame rate fluctuations and pop in issues. These two are usually the biggest technical hurdles in developing an open world game so it’s not surprising that the Witcher 3 on the PS4 also suffers from these issues.

However, Michał Krzemiński, Senior Art Producer has assured to GamingBolt that all of these issues will be ironed out in the final game. “We’re still in the optimization phase, so we’ll definitely iron these small things out,” Michał said to GamingBolt.

However in terms of frame rate, he believes that both PS4 and Xbox One versions ‘look solid.’ It must be noted that both the console versions are targeted to run at 30 frames per second. The PS4 version will run at 1080p and the Xbox One is currently at 900p but there is a chance that resolution might be improved in the latter’s case.

On a related note, there has been a lot of controversy regarding Witcher 3’s requirements for PC. The recommended settings would the run the game at 30 frames per second. So what kind of build will PC gamers require to have a full 60 fps experience?

Michal stated that although he cannot give us the details on the 60 fps requirement, he did said that players need to have a high end PC to run the game at that standard. “They need to have a pretty high-end PC, but I won’t give you the details now, as we’re still optimizing the game and anything can change. Having said that, the game won’t kill your PC if you have a lower end machine — we want all gamers to have fun, not only the ones with the most beefy specs.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC this May.
