Check Out 12 Minutes of Footage of Assassin’s Creed IV on the Wii U

Wii U version looks stunning.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is also coming to the Wii U, but you wouldn’t know about it from the way Ubisoft treats it: they never talk about it, nor have they ever released any media for it. Usually when a publisher does that, it’s a bad sign, as it means they have something to hide.

Not so with this game, however. What you see above is twelve minutes of footage of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag running on the Wii U, and it looks simply stunning. Not only does it look better than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, but it also looks shocking close to the PlayStation 4 version; Ubisoft is clearly putting Nintendo’s hardware through its paces here, and it shows in how great the game looks.

We don’t know anything about the Gamepad functionality in the game from the footage above, but if Assassin’s Creed III is anything to go by, it should be fairly adequate. All in all, the Wii U version looks like a pretty darn good buy here, which is never the case with third party multiplats on the platform.
