Check Out This New Skylanders: Trap Team Trailer

Oh Activision, how you continue to exploit children.

Skylanders: Trap Team is the fourth and newest iteration of Activision’s amazingly popular Skylanders franchise, which mixes toys with video games using some neat NFC trickery. Trap Force was originally announced a few weeks ago, but we haven’t had the chance to see much of the game in action. Taking advantage of the fact that it is E3 week, Activision just gave is a new trailer for the title, which seems to be teasing the spirit of ‘discovery.’

The Skylanders franchise is amazingly lucrative for Activision- it has generated over $1 billion in revenue for the publisher, and is one of last generation’s breakout success stories. The series is so successful that it has seen other leading entertainment brands, such as Disney and even Nintendo, try to imitate its success. Skylanders: Trap Force will be due out on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS later this year.
