Look, I’m a big fan of Civilization. 2010’s Civilization 5 may be one of my all time favorite games (especially once Gods and Kings and Brave New World are thrown into the mix), and I even liked 2014’s Civilization: Beyond Earth, which not a lot of fans of the series appear to have liked much. So of course, I’ve been excited about Civilization 6 ever since it was first announced.

So I hope you will excuse me for my excitement when I say that Civilization 6 looks absolutely incredible in these new 12 minutes of footage for it that we got, courtesy of the E3 2016 footage for the game having been uploaded online, and holy shit, I need this game right now.

Civilization 6 seems to be taking all the nuance of its predecessor and its installments, and, instead of wiping the slate clean, as each numbered game in the series usually does, it seems to be retaining it all and building upon it- in the process, it may end up delivering the greatest strategy game ever made.

Civilization 6 is due out for PC and Mac on October 23. You can check out the new footage for the game below.
