Codemasters Showcases Endurance Racing for GRID Autosport

It's a marathon, not a sprint.

GRID Autosport is the upcoming next installment in Codemasters’ Grid series of racing games, and the company seems to be going all out to make this the ultimate racing game experience; the game will, for instance, feature five ‘unique styles of racing in the motorsport world,’ and the video that you see above showcases one of them- endurance racing.

Endurance racing is exactly what it sounds like- it’s an extended race, meaning players have to be more careful of how they drive. Put simply, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. In the words of Rory Butcher of the Oman Racing Team / Motorbase Performance, “You’ve got to be quick of course. You’ve got to treat the car well to get to the end of the race. You’ve got to be very consistent over the long distance.”

GRID Autosport is due out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on June 24 in the USA and June 27 in Europe. No version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Wii U has been announced yet.
