Crimson Moon Announced At State of Play, Shows Off Brutal Combat And Terrifying Enemies

Probably Monsters' latest action title blends medieval horror, brutal combat, and a very metal vibe that has us eager to learn more.

Today’s State of Play brought quite a pleasant surprise with the announcement of Crimson Moon, an action title from Probably Monsters that’s all kinds of awesome in its announcement trailer.

The game sees you as an unnamed protagonist who is a Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid whose existence might be frowned upon by some while seen as a sign of salvation by others. Guided along by a suitably ominous-sounding narrator, the trailer showcases the protagonist taking on hordes of terrifying monsters, tearing through their ranks with brutal efficiency before facing down gigantic monsters that seem primed to give him a run for his money.

Although details about the story, mechanics, and world are scarce at this time, Crimson Moon’s visuals are quite the sight to behold. Meanwhile, its combat seems to take a leaf out of the more methodical Soulslikes out there, your sword and shield being your primary tools for offence and defence against the horrors you face.

While there isn’t a concrete release date for Crimson Moon as of now, it’s slated for a 2026 release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Store. It’s open for wishlisting if you feel like it’s a title you can’t miss after you check out the announcement trailer below.
