Crytek has announced that it’s Crysis 3 multiplayer open beta will commence on January 29th. Besides helping with development, it also lets players experience the game before release. And really, that’s all that matters. Even better, the beta will run for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC so no one gets left behind.
The open beta will feature two prominent modes – Hunter and Crash Site. Hunter Mode has two cloaked characters picking off a team of 14 CELL troops. Each dead CELL makes for a new Hunter, but the wannabe Predators lose if the time is up and any member of the opposing team is extracted alive.
On the other hand, Crash Site Mode is like King of the Hill with a few tweaks. Players will rush to a randomly placed alien pod on the field to accumulate points, and can use the shields on it for defensive purposes. There’s also the “Pinger”, a CEPH death machine that can make for good assaults. Just make sure your enemies don’t hijack it while you’re inside.
There will be two maps – Museum, set in the ruins of Manhattan and meant for vertical limits, and Airport, a Nature-infested, open area.
And as if that’s not enough to get you excited, check out the new “Nanosuit” gameplay trailer above.
