It’s been a while since we saw something from the Crysis series, but it seems the sci-fi first person shooter franchise could be gearing up for some sort of a comeback. Recently, the official Crysis Twitter page saw some unusual activity, posting a tweet that simply said, “receiving data.” This is also the page’s first tweet since December 2016.

The most obvious assumption here would be that a Crysis remaster is in the pipeline. If that does indeed turn out to be the case, it should be interesting to see whether Crytek do that with just the first game, or if they decide to touch up the entire trilogy.

Of course, this is all still just speculation, and there’s no way we can be absolutely sure that a remaster is indeed on the way until we hear something official from Crytek. We’ll keep you updated in case that happens, so stay tuned.
