Cuphead Crosses 500,000 Units Sold on Steam

With sales from other platforms, hopefully it is approaching a million units sold by now

Posted By | On 11th, Oct. 2017

It looks like Cuphead is continuing to do well. The game, which broke over 120,000 sales on Steam in just three days, has now crossed 500,000 units sold on Steam, Steam sales tracker SteamSpy reports. This is amazing news for the game, which has had a long development cycle, with a lot of personal monetary investment by the two brothers who gestated it.

It also indicates that the word of mouth around the game continues to be positive, and that people are happy to spend money on it. More importantly, given that the game is also available on GoG, Windows 10, and Xbox One, it also makes it extremely likely that the title has hit a million units sold worldwide by now- a stupendous success for the unassuming action platformer.

Hopefully, this is the kind of success the game can continue to maintain as time goes on–it’s a great game, and it deserves all the critical and commercial success that it can get.
