Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Digital Pre-Order Cancellation Notifications Are Going Out, Even If You Didn’t Pre-Order

Sony just wants you to know that if you had it pre-ordered, it'd be canceled.

Will Cyberpunk 2077 actually make the 2020 launch? Well, at one point it seemed almost certain that it would, but after another unexpected delay (so unexpected even the people working on it didn’t know about it until it happened apparently), it is back to being uncertain. For those who had the game pre-ordered on PS4 digitally, you’ll also probably start getting notifications that your order could be canceled due to the delay. If you didn’t pre-order it, well, you may get that message anyway.

It’s not uncommon for digital pre-orders to be canceled on Sony’s platform after a delay of this nature after a request. Depending on the level of delay, it could also be automatic. It seems in this case, Sony is offering a choice of what you want to do. In something of a fun twist, it seems as if the message of a pre-order cancelation is going out to a lot of users who, in fact, did not have the game pre-ordered. One of the writers for Twisted Voxel, for instance, said he got the message despite never pre-ordering the title on PSN, and there’s links to several users on Reddit saying the same thing. Clearly, it’s just a bug on behalf of Sony, but it’s worth a chuckle.

“Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on December

Your pre-order of Cyberpunk 2077 has a new release date and will now be available on December 10th, 2020.

If you don’t want to wait, you may cancel your order and receive a full refund by contacting customer support at us.playstation.com/chat

If we don’t hear from you by December 10th, 2020, we’ll assume that you would like to keep your order. Cancellation of your order will also cancel any gift with purchase granted at the time of pre-order.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is now set to launch in December for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. We’ll see how that goes.
