Dark Souls Remastered New Trailer Shows Off PS4 Version

What do you think of the new lighting model?

One of the best regarded games of last generation, and indeed, of all time, Dark Souls, is finally getting a release on current generation systems thanks to Dark Souls Remastered. And now, with a little over a month left to the release of the title, Bandai Namco have released yet another video for the game—this one showing off what the PS4 version looks like.

The PS4 (and presumably, Xbox) version of the game has a new lighting engine, as well as newer textures. The games also go up to 60 frames, with support for up to 4K resolutions—which is good all around. On the other hand, multiple Dark Souls fans on the internet have complained about the new art style, stating that the new lighting engine ruins the look of the game. It comes down to taste, I guess—people who prefer how the original looked will probably like the Switch version, which maintains an art style closer to the original game.

Dark Souls Remastered is due out on May 25. It will launch for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
