The hype train for the sequel we thought we would never be able to enjoy, Darksiders 3, has now left the station, screaming right ahead with Fury cackling at the lead. While much of the game remains a mystery, we’ve now been treated to a taste of what her throw down will look like with Wrath.
Shown off by IGN, Fury and her Watcher companion stride right into battle with a glorious cockiness that already makes it look like she’s going to be a fantastic character, to go up against the heavily armoured, fiery beast. Wrath itself fittingly looks almost like a Dark Souls boss annexed the Blades of Chaos. It’s hard to tell if the combat itself is stilted because of development concerns or the player involved, but either will hopefully iron itself out in time.
Announced on May 2, 2017 thanks to an Amazon leak, Darksiders 3 is being published by THQ Nordic and developed by Gunfire Games. While Vigil Games was an unfortunate casualty of THQ going under, the good news is that the team at Gunfire Games is basically staffed by the old Vigil team.
It’s now been confirmed that the game is set to launch November this year. Recently, two more gameplay videos for the game were also released, one that showed off Fury’s abilities, and another that focused on combat and exploration. Be sure to check those out.
