The Dead Space remake features special collectibles called Markers that unlock an alternate ending once you gather them all. These Markers are scattered across Ishimura, making it a challenging task to find them all. However, players should note that Marker Fragments won’t appear during the first playthrough. They only spawn during the second playthrough, after you’ve completed the game on any difficulty.
In total, there are 12 Marker Fragments to locate. To help players on their search, we have prepared a guide that provides all the Marker Fragment locations throughout the game.
All Dead Space Remake Marker Fragments Locations
Marker Fragment 1 – In Chapter 1 – Objective: Find the Data Board
- The Marker Fragment can be found in the Maintenance Bay Office on a shelf next to the Data Board. To obtain it, you need to melee the shelf, and the fragment will drop down.
Marker Fragment 2 – Chapter 2 – Objective: Find a Shock Pad
- To find the Marker Fragment, head to Dr. T Kyne’s Office after clearing the quarantine in Main Lab. Use kinesis to move the shelf and reveal the hidden room, where you can find the fragment.
Marker Fragment 3 – Chapter 3 – Objective: Manually Ignite the Engines
- To obtain the Marker Fragment, you must first manually ignite the engines and make your way to Power Sub-Station 03 in the Engine Room. Once there, you will find the fragment in the corner.
Marker Fragment 4 – Chapter 4 – Objective: Reroute Power from Electrical Systems
- Once you have successfully rerouted the power from the Electrical Systems, make your way to Floor 3 of the Bridge. Inside the Break Room, you will spot the Marker Fragment lying on the floor, waiting to be picked up.
Marker Fragment 5 – Chapter 5 – Objective: Lift Lockdown
- To find the Marker Fragment, go to Dr. C. Mercer’s office after lifting the lockdown. Look for the fragment lying on his desk.
Marker Fragment 6 – Chapter 6 – Objective: Acquire the Liquid Nitrogen
- To get this fragment, first obtain the liquid nitrogen, and then go to Cryogenics. Go back to the spot where you froze the Hunter and you will see the fragment on top of the cryogenic chamber. You can use kinesis to retrieve it.
Marker Fragment 7 – Chapter 7 – Objective: Inject Wheezer 07
- You can find the fragment on top of the gantry in the East Grow Chamber, which is where Wheezer 06 was located initially. It’s stuck in the corner, surrounded by corruption. You’ll need to use kinesis to dislodge it.
Marker Fragment 8 – Chapter 8 – Objective: Find the SOS Beacon
- In order to find this fragment, Locate the SOS beacon. Then you must first obtain level 3 security clearance. Once you have it, go to Mineral Samples and enter the room. You will see the fragment lying on a shelf.
Marker Fragment 9 – Chapter 9 – Objective: Activate the Comms Array
- While solving the puzzle related to the Comms Array, the fragment will be floating inside a corruption covered hole. Look to the left of the Communication Control panel.
Marker Fragment 10 – Chapter 10 – Objective: Destroy Tendril in Deluxe Quarters
- To find this fragment, start by destroying the Tendril within the Deluxe Quarters. Then, proceed to the hallway where the second Tendril is located and activate the doors at the circuit breaker. Head towards the bottom of the Deluxe Shift Buns where you will find the fragment on a desk.
Marker Fragment 11 – Chapter 11 – Objective: Destroy Tendril in Chief Seward’s Office
- You need to eliminate the Tendril that’s running amok in Chief Steward’s Office. Afterward, head over to the Inquiry Desks located nearby where the Tendril was first spotted. On a desk directly across the door, you will find the fragment.
Marker Fragment 12 – Chapter 12 – Objective: Engage the Cargo Crane
- To locate the fragment, move the Marker in the Cargo Bay first. After that, head to the south-eastern corner of the room, where you can find the fragment on a shelf.
