Trion Worlds’ ambitious cross media initiative, Defiance, which launched as a TV series in conjunction with a video game back on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, has been chugging along quietly in the background, and found a loyal following- now, the next entry in the universe is due. Trion Worlds announced today that Defiance 2050, a full “recreation” of the original game for the current generation of consoles, from the ground up, will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.
Defiance 2050 is set to begin 20 years after the Arkfall event (which would line it up with where the story of the current Defiance is at the moment). Apart from the requisite graphical and UI updates, the new entry of the game will also be updating and enhancing the mechanics and systems in the game to modernize it for new generation sensibilities.
