For a while, there had been speculation that when Destiny: Rise of Iron, the last major expansion for Bungie and Activision’s shared world shooter before the sequel launches next year, launches, it will not include a weapon/class rebalancing right at launch- instead, players will have to wait a bit after launch to get an update that does that.

This belief was rooted in what had previously been stated in a Game Informer Q&A video– however, it appears as though they misspoke. Clarifying on Reddit, Bungie have confirmed that Rise of Iron will in fact have weapon and class rebelancing when it launches, after all.

That’s not all, either- it also appears as though the Year 3 Thorn will be the same Thorn that is available in the game now- just new LL. That said, it appears as though they added the DoT reducing artifact as a possible counter for it. The artifact can be equipped at any time and the effects become active immediately.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is due out later this month only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
