Want to try out Diablo 3? Well now you can, provided you have a guest pass or you have to wait till 30 days after launch to download it directly from Battle.net.

So what exactly is in this Starter Edition? It apparently contains a chunky amount of content – till Act 1 boss. No spoilers will be given here, don’t worry.

If you buy a boxed copy of Diablo 3, you will get a guest pass free with which you can treat a friend.

“Diablo III Starter Edition provides players the ability to try out a limited version of Diablo III,” read the article on Blizzard’s site. “Guest Pass keys allow a player to give friends the opportunity to play the Starter Edition of Diablo III. Guest Pass keys are included in all box copies of Diablo III.”

Here are the contents:

  • Act I up to the *boss* is available
  • Level 13 cap
  • Matchmaking available only with other Starter Edition players
  • No Real Money Auction House access

Details on how to download the starter edition can be found on Blizzard’s site. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
