Whatever it is, it is set in the Diablo universe.

The development team at Blizzard that was responsible for the blockbuster Diablo III is now apparently looking ahead to a new project- and has started hiring for it. SegmentNext is reporting that the Blizzard careers website has been updated with a job posting seeking an art director for an “unannounced project” in the Diablo universe.

The job listing is specifically asking for someone with an understanding of the Diablo series, so it seems as though Blizzard is trying to avoid the kind of backlash that the artstyle of Diablo III got upon its reveal.

Diablo III was, of course, a stellar success, having sold a massive 30 million copies worldwide across all platforms, becoming Blizzard’s most successful game ever (World of Warcraft not included). It makes sense that Blizzard would want to capitalize on all of that success, even as the company continues to diversify its portfolio of offerings.
