Directive 8020

Supermassive Games has cast a wide net with the horror subgenres thanks to The Dark Pictures Anthology. Its next frontier is a sci-fi horror story set in space with shape-shifting monstrosities. Officially due out this year, Directive 8020 has now been given a specific release date.

At Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, Supermassive showcased a new trailer for the horror title, which will kick off The Dark Pictures’ second season. Set aboard a colony ship, the story sees its cast of characters hunted by a deadly alien organism capable of changing its shape. The decisions players make throughout the story will impact how it unravels, who survives, and who dies. Check out its trailer below for a glimpse of what the game will have in store.

As for its release date? The horror title launches on October 2, well in time for Halloween, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It’s now available to wishlist.
