Disgaea Refine Remake Launches In Japan On July 26

The remake launches in Japan this summer.

Another story out of the latest issue of Dengeki Playstation, the remake of the original PS2 Disgaea title, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is expected to release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on July 26 in Japan. It will be known as Disgaea Refine.

The remake has yet to be greatly detailed beyond the title and platforms. However as it is a remake, we can likely expect the title to maintain the grid based tactical role playing gameplay of the original, with modern quality of life improvements to help bring the original PS2 title to modern standards, or at least put it in line with the last release.

The Nippon Ichi tactical classic originally launched in 2003 on the PS2, and received critical acclaim, though unfortunately not commercial success. Disgaea Refine will launch on July 26 in Japan with a 9,200 yen (roughly $85 USD) special edition package with the OST, calendar, and a special case.
