Banandium Chips are one of several items found out in the open world or unearthed as Donkey Kong smashes his way through terrain in Donkey Kong Bananza. While gold has obvious uses, it may not be immediately clear what utility Banandium Chips have and where to get them relatively consistently.

This guide is all about what Banandium Chips are, and how to farm them quickly and efficiently in Donkey Kong Bananza.

What Are Banandium Chips

The Chips are simply an in-game currency which can be handed in along with gold at specific locations, namely Chip Exchanges, in return for another currency called Banandium Gems.

The exchange rate increases exponentially, across Layers and Chip Exchanges, based on a running count of the number of times a trade was carried out.

The first time is a low 10 Banandium Chips for a single Banandium Gem, and then increases by an additional ten Chips for the same, each time. The exchange rate tops out at 100 Banandium Chips for one Gem by the 10th trade.

Gold cost starts off at 100 the first time, and increases at the rate of an additional 20 gold each try, before topping out at 300 gold on the 11th trade.

Beyond those points the exchange rate remains fixed.

Farming Banandium Chips

Smashing your way through the world and enemies is how you stumble upon Banandium Chips, but since it is a randomized drop, some locations may be better than others.

Challenges are the most reliable farming source for Banandium Chips, since they are self-contained spaces with defined enemies. While randomization in drops still applies, the variation between runs is negligible.

Canyon Layer Battle has enemies that repeatedly drop Banandium Chips but are quick to dispose of.

Other, possibly better Challenges may be done as well, depending on length and difficulty.

Attire Bonuses

Whether farming or simply smashing stuff to get Banandium Chips, the best results can be achieved by wearing the bonus-granting attire called Banandium Chip Bolo. At its maximum upgrade level of 3, it can increase the chance of doubling any Banandium Chips you collect by 40 percent.

While that is still a chance-based bonus to double collected Chips, you will be proc’ing it fairly frequently while farming, especially at that mid-level percentage.

That is everything there is to know about Banandium Chips and how to farm them fast in Donkey Kong Bananza.
