Australian singer Donna Burke, most recently prominent in gaming circles for her work on Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain, is now apparently working with Nintendo on something, according to a tweet she shared. What is she working on? Who knows? Her tweet doesn’t say anything, other than her finding it “an honor” to work with the venerated Japanese company.
Burke’s tweet was posted from Kyoto- so whatever it is, it is not for a studio like Retro, NST, or NERD (which are all based in North America or Europe)- it’s something with Nintendo’s EPD studios, most likely. As for what it could be, it is totally up in the air- Nintendo games usually feature minimal voice acting, with few exceptions. A popular theory is she could be Samus in Metroid Prime 4, but that’s all it is, a theory.
Whatever it is, she’s top tier talent- and it’s great to see Nintendo have her on board for whatever it is she is working with them on. Hopefully, we find out what it is some time soon.
Today’s recording job was a record 6 bottles! Such an honor to work at #Nintendo today!!! Arigato!!! pic.twitter.com/yvp6OPG0zN
