Dragon Age Inquisition: PC vs PS4 vs Xbox One Graphics Comparison

PC comes out on top by a noticeable margin this time around.

Video game and entertainment content creators IGN, have released a video that compiles and compares the graphical fidelity of Dragon Age Inquisition across PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With the eighth generation of home consoles, console gamers are getting closer to being able to enjoy PC quality visuals on their preferred system.

For the sake of transparency, I’m mostly a PC gamer, though I can honestly and objectively say that from a visual point of view the PC version is far superior to that of the PS4 or Xbox One. That doesn’t mean the game is better on one or the other, just that the PC version has better visuals.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One builds of the game seem to lack multiple cinematic lights, resulting in over-bright skin tones and blurred textures that lack depth. Judging on the video, the console versions also suffer from a lower frame rate or at least some noticeable stuttering. For the best comparison shots, watch from 2:35 and forward.

Personally, I’m just glad that the game looks great on all three platforms.
