e-Xpress announces Mortal Kombat X Cup for India Qualifiers

e-xpress Interactive, one of India’s largest local distributors of video game software, hardware, and peripherals, has announced that it will be hosting a Mortal Kombat X cup in the country to celebrate the release of the tenth entry in the long running fighting game franchise, which it will be handling in the region.

The Indian qualifiers will be held on 2nd and 3rd of May at Oberoi Mall, Mumbai. The best Mortal Kombat players in the country will fight in a knockout format. There will be one finalist from India who will attend the Warner Bros. Final in France on the July 4-5.

The prize pool for the Indian qualifier round will be a total of₹30,000:

  • The India Qualifiers Winner will qualify for a seat in the Grand Final taking place in Paris, France. He will also get a cash prize of INR 20,000
  • The runner-up will get a cash prize of INR 7,500
  • The 3rd place winner will get a cash prize of INR 2,500

Mortal Kombat X launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC soon. A release on Xbox 360 and PS3 follows later this year.
