EA Thinks Star wars: Battlefront Will Sell 9-10 Million Copies

That's an interesting prediction.

Star Wars battlefront

The Star Wars: Battlefront games might have a massive cult following, but they were never exactly big sellers. Which is why EA’s prediction and sales projection for this year’s upcoming (and already mired in controversy) reboot is a bit interesting to me.

You see, EA has gone ahead and predicted that Star Wars: Battlefront will sell 9-10 million copies (login required to access link). As said before, this seems to be a bit unreasonable and unrealistic, without even considering that this game being only on the newer consoles has to cap out its sales somewhat.

That said, though, is it really that far fetched? Battlefront will be launching right alongside The Force Awakens, and will benefit from the marketing push for that movie. Then there is also the fact that there has been pent up demand and anticipation for a new Battlefront game for a very long time now.

Which of these viewpoints really is true, though, remains to be seen. Star Wars: Battlefront launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 17.
