EA Will Continue Supporting Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Exec Confirms

More EA games coming.

The question of further support for the Nintendo Switch by EA was up in the air after there were doubts about how the sole EA release on the platform so far, FIFA 18, had performed. It seems like it ended up performing very well- good enough that there will be more support for the Switch from EA.

Nintendo France’s Managing Director Philippe Lavoué confirmed to Les Numériques that FIFA 18 on Switch ended up passing EA’s expectations, having sold 73,000 copies in France alone. According to what he said, the game was a “test case” for EA, and it has demonstrated that the Switch is a viable platform for the publisher’s games; at the very least, he hinted that more FIFA will come to the Switch, especially with the World Cup season coming up.

So there you have it- EA is satisfied with the Switch, and will put out more games for it. Now, more games beyond FIFA? That remains to be seen.
