D3 Publisher has announced that Earth Defense Force 6 will be coming to PC, PS4 and PS5 in the west in Spring 2024. The PC version of the game is slated to first launch on Steam, followed shortly thereafter by a release on the Epic Games Store.

Earth Defense Force 6 was originally released in Japan all the way back in August 2022. The game has since been fairly successful for D3 Publisher, having shipped 300,000 copies in its first week—an impressive milestone considering the fact that the game was only available on PS4 and PS5 in Japan at the time.

The sixth game in the Earth Defense Force series, Earth Defense Force 6 takes place three years after humanity won the war against invaders known as “Primers”—the events of Earth Defense Force 5. The game revolves around players having to help humanity continue their efforts rebuild, while at the same time also dealing with leftover alien colonists.

Earth Defense Force 6 will allow players to pick between the Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver and Fencer classes, and will support for up to four players in online co-op. Local co-op is also an option for up to two players.
