What the gaming industry loves more than anything is to chase successful products and trends. So it should come as no surprise that the success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has spawned so many imitators in its wake. Thankfully, the followers all seem to be trying their own spin and take on the formula- the most interesting of which might be Egress, a new battle royale game which was just announced today.
The big thing about Egress is that it is a battle royale game with Dark Souls style combat (because what is better than chasing one successful thing? Chasing two of them, of course). Which actually sounds like a wonderful and fantastic idea in theory (although it would definitely slow things down more than the average PUBG game, in my reckoning).
