More balanced skill sets
Mages are awesome. That is an undeniable truth that Bethesda seem to have forgotten in Skyrim as, by end-game, magic totally blows. Magic spells don’t upgrade with your character in the same way that melee attacks do. I know that the point is to get new and better spells later on, but it’s still the weakest skill set to adopt by the time you get past level 30 in comparison to thief or warrior set ups. Let’s see some more balance next time Bethesda.
No repeating quests
This is me getting picky but, when it comes to side-quest lines, Bethesda need to stop kidding themselves. I loved the mages guild, companions, dark brotherhood etc. All these quest lines were fantastic diversions to the main story, but why do you need to put further quests in some of these stories that have no further bearing? I don’t care how many strange rifts are appearing in various towns. I’ve already become arch-mage, and that is that, so stop pretending that there’s more that needs to be done. These repeating quests are boring and repetitive, and a game with as much content as any of the Elder Scrolls titles should never be in need of filler.
Better weapon variety
In comparison to a lot of RPGs, weapon variety is where TES lets itself down. Sure, you have one and two handed swords and axes, but where are the spears, crossbows, halberds, rapiers, naginatas, curved swords etc. So many weapons have been developed over the past millennium that swords, bows and the occasional stave just don’t cut it. Let’s at least hope we get a nice selection of spears by the time the Elder Scrolls 6 comes out.
