The Wings update for Elite: Dangerous is now available- adding playable ships, AI groups, and completely overhauling the communication UI and interface, it promises to be one of the more substantial ones the game has seen since its launch late last year.
The main upshot of this new update is improved and more seamless multiplayer- unlike before, all you have to do is shoot out a beacon, and players in the vicinity can see it and drop down to it- at that point, you can do missions together, and share in the bounties and rewards.
And while we still do not have a third person mode, you can finally see your ship via a flyable debug camera, which can be accessed by pressing CTRL+ALT+SPACE.
Apart from all the big changes, Frontier has also worked on addressing the numerous audio and sound glitches that plagued the game. There may be no sound in space, but no sound or bad sound in a video game just sounds boring, you know.
Stay tuned for more coverage.
