Endless Ocean, Another Code Trademarks Filed By Nintendo

These would be pretty cool new games to bring back on the Switch, for sure.

Do you remember Another Code or Endless Ocean? The mystery visual novel, and underwater exploration game respectively, were two under the radar original efforts by Nintendo that hit in the DS and Wii era. While neither were particularly successful, they garnered a cult following each.

With the Nintendo Switch being a marvellous success, and Nintendo no longer pressured to generate a string of hits just to keep the system afloat on the market, at this point, the company can probably afford to get a bit experimental with the games that it makes again. Which is why it seems like new titles in the Another Code and Endless Ocean series may be inbound- at least, if you want to go by new trademark filings for both by Nintendo, picked up by J-PlatPat (translated by the Anime News Network, and no, I don’t usually spend time on anime sites).

Maybe these can be cheaper, eShop only affairs? That’s how I imagine Nintendo will do it. I just hope that new ones are inbound at all. They won’t sell anyone on a Switch, but they’d be cool to have if you do own one nonetheless.
