Enterbrain – 3DS sells 4.1 million in Japan

Posted By | On 03rd, Jan. 2012

Famtisu publisher Enterbrain has mentioned that the 3DS has sold 4 million units in Japan since its launch. Now, that’s a great achievement as the 3DS sold almost 2 million during the holidays.

The 3DS launched in March, and had a rocky start wrt hardware sales in Japan. Nintendo seems to have turned that around with three huge games.

Super Mario 3D Land sold 1 million and Mario Kart 7 did the same. Both these games along with Monster Hunter 3G were responsible for amazing 3DS sales.

Vita performed under many people’s expectations in Japan, as it collapsed during its second week. Time will tell if Sony manages to turn things around.
