Evil Genius 2 Finally Announced

Rebellion's evil plan, come to light.

It’s been a long time coming – people have been waiting for it for what feels like forever now – but Evil genius 2, the sequel to the cult classic management/sim game from 2004, has finally been announced by Rebellion, best known in modern times as the folks behind the Sniper Elite series.

Evil Genius 2 has actually been discussed by the studio for a while, although it looks like it only started development back in Spring this year, so it’s not likely that we will see it for a while. For now, only a PC version has been confirmed, though it is not entirely unlikely that other versions may come down the line as well.

“As some of you may remember, we were very close to announcing this project several years ago,” Rebellion said of the announcement. “Back then, our plan was to crowd-fund a new Evil Genius PC game and we made a series of steps to launching a campaign. After the growing success of the Sniper Elite series and other Rebellion games IP, we started to feel it wasn’t fair to ask fans to fund a new game if we didn’t need them to!”

As a result, the new game will not be crowdfunded, and will be produced internally by Rebellion- as of right now, we don’t have much else to go on, but as and when we do, we’ll make sure to let you know. Stay tuned to GamingBolt.
