One adventurous young man, 23 year old William Cruz, is setting out to hike his way up Mount Everest, just like many adventurers before him have done before. Many have succeeded and many have failed in this pursuit. Some have even died on the ascent! So what inspired this bloke to take the perilous trip?

Cruz is setting out to break the world record for playing video games at the highest altitude whilst still on solid ground, despite the fact that the summit of Everest isn’t exactly solid and stable. In fact, Cruz will be playing Far Cry 4 on the mountain thanks to an initiative by Ubisoft. He won’t be playing it on the summit which is over 29,000 feet tall but he will be hiking to the base of Everest, which is still 17,500 feet to play the game. It makes you wonder whether he’d be doing this if Far Cry 4 wasn’t set in a fictional Himalayan region.

Far Cry 4 is out in November for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. Check out Cruz’s efforts here.
