Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 5, the latest entry in its first person, globetrotting action saga, will be launching this year. As of right now, that is really all we have and all we know- we also have an official logo, which you can see above. It is totally unremarkable- it tells us nothing about what to expect from this game.

Of course, we have had some rumors in the last few weeks, which have indicated that the game may be set in the American west. This is something that some highly reputable sources have confirmed- less well placed sources also seem to speculate that Far Cry 5 could have a western time period setting, much like Red Dead Redemption (meaning the game would essentially go head on with Red Dead Redemption 2 later this year, if this rumor is true).

We should know more shortly, and when we do, we will let you know. Presumably, Far Cry 5, when it launches later this year, will be on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
