FIFA 12 the third biggest UK launch ever

The UK charts for the week ending October 1 were recently released, and FIFA 12, as expected, knocked down Gears of War from the top spot and claimed the position for its own. It is, however, also the third biggest launch ever in UK, behind Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3, overtaking GTA IV in the process.

FIFA 12’s unit sales are 18% more than those of FIFA 11 last year, and revenue is up by 34%. 54% of the sales were on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 got the remaining 44%.

FIFA 12 released three days back in UK for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, 3DS, PSP, PS2 and iOS. We reviewed the game a little while back and gave it a solid 9.5/10, calling it the best game in the sports genre till date.
