At a recent PAX East panelFinal Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida and DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka offered a new look at the action RPG’s upcoming second paid DLC, The Rising Tide, along with confirming an April release date. Check out its newest trailer below.

The Rising Tide will kick off with a mysterious letter arriving at the Hideaway, beseeching Clive for help in saving the Lost Dominant of Leviathan. He will be accompanied by Joshua, Jill, and Torgal, and together the party will travel to the land of Mysidia, a realm with a blue sky (as opposed to the rest of the world’s gray, overcast heavens).

The party will also meet a key new character in the form of Shula, an accomplished warrior who will join Clive in battle. Shula’s tragic backstory and mysterious connection to Leviathan will seemingly be a key part of the expansion’s main story.

The end of the DLC’s newest trailer also drops some interesting teases about Clive gaining new abilities that will grant him wings, though the exact nature of where they come from and what purpose they serve has been left tantalizingly shrouded in mystery.

Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide will launch for PS5 on April 18.
