Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yesterday we found out that Hideo Kojima was working on one final Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain trailer that would serve as a kind of “goodbye” as well as a tribute to the fans. Now we know exactly when this trailer is expected to hit the Internet. The trailer had been set for an August 25 launch and Kojima took to Twitter today to announce that it will be released at 9 AM EDT (New York time)

Kojima has been pointing to this trailer as one that is “hand made” and he had actually alluded to making this final launch trailer a couple of times over the last few weeks. Over the weekend, he made comments about how the trailer was certainly going to be showing off things that hadn’t been seen yet in previous trailers but was also going to be one big thank you to fans of the series who have remained extremely loyal over the years.

For those not on the East Coast who aren’t really good at time conversion and want to know exactly when they can first see this video, those in the Pacific time zone will have access to it at 6 AM while those in the Central time zone will get it at 8 AM. UK Metal Gear Solid fans will be able to see te trailer hit at 2 PM and Japan has to wait all day long as it will be 11 PM when the trailer goes live there. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain officially launches on September 1.
