Forza Motorsport 4 Review Round Up

Posted By | On 06th, Oct. 2011

It’s been a long wait, and Forza Motorsport 4 is almost here now. With just 4 days to go for its release, the embargo has lifted and reviews have started coming in. The reception has been very overwhelming so far. But rather than you having to go through the internet to pick out the reviews separately, we have compiled all the reviews here, in one place, in this Review Round Up.

Digital Spy- 10/10
“Forza Motorsport 4 is authentic yet accessible, educating, entertaining, occasionally silly, always spectacular, but most importantly, faster and more thrilling than riding a V12-powered rollercoaster with no restraints.”

GamePro- 10/10
“The ultimate automotive playground. A place where car buffs can come together and enjoy virtually every aspect of car culture you can think of – and engage in fierce, beautifully articulated competition.”

Eurogamer Spain- 10/10
“Forza 4 wins the race because it’s much more than just the cold numbers of a car database: it’s a bigger concept, one based on pure passion for cars and the motor world. If Forza 3 was the best driving game for the Xbox 360, Forza 4 is the best driving game of this generation.”

Eurogamer Italy- 10/10
“Thanks to its stunning visuals, richness of content and deep gameplay mechanics, Forza Motorsport 4 proves to be the best racing game currently available on the market. If you’re a fan of the genre you really can’t miss it.”

Gameblog.fr- 10/10
“Forza 4 is back in good shape with more content than ever before and many new features, including Kinect integration for the fun, the Autovista mode for car lovers, the Rival mode for competition, and much more… but we will first remember its technical performance (the game looks great and runs continuously at 60 fps) and its superb gameplay, which provides renewed physics for exceptional driving sensations. We can forgive its few flaws and raise our thumbs up: it is impossible to miss it if you’re a fan of racing games.”

Destructoid- 10/10
“Automobile love in a box…A game that seems to have covered every base perfectly. They’ve also managed to add something else that you’ll never see as a bulletpoint on a box: personality. Forza 4 is so much more lively, and it shows so much more character than its predecessor. The game practically shines with signature touches that show that the developers truly loved making it.”

NZGamer- 9.6/10
“Jaw-droppingly beautiful… If you are into hotting up rice-rockets, drag racing supercharged yank-tanks, or delicately carving through the twists in a finely tuned Italian thoroughbred, you’ll find Forza 4 to be the best console racing title around.”

Strategy Informer- 9.5/10
“It’s faster and more intense than ever before, with tangible improvements to every facet. The word forza is used to cheer competitors at sporting events: it’s about enthusiasm and passion. Forza 4 succeeds because it distils automotive passion into a form that anyone- not just petrolheads- will find enthralling.”

IGN- 9.5/10
“The improved visuals, the added cars on track, the wealth of new race types, the tweaked AI and closer racing, the ferocious sound and superior sense of speed, the even better livery editor, the lot. With Forza 4 Turn 10 has crafted a driving game like no other; it’s hands-down this generation’s premier racing simulator.”

Vandal Online- 9.4/10
“It is arguably the best racing game on Xbox 360 and personal tastes will decide on whether or not the best racing game console.” (ROUGH TRANSLATION)

MondoXbox- 9.4/10
“An amazing title, greatly improved both in gameplay, simulation and graphics, and with some great additions like the stunning Autovista mode. We would have loved if the developers pushed the envelope further by adding night racing and weather conditions, but it’s nevertheless an unmissable buy for every motorsports lover.”

3DJuegos- 9.3/10
“Although the features that Forza Motorsport 4 offers are nothing new from previous iterations, they all team up again in a fantastic package. The game is one of the finest racing games ever.”

Game Informer- 9.3/10
“The changes in Forza 4 I find most exciting don’t alter this setup dramatically, and yet with just a few tweaks Forza 4 feels like a fresh experience. It’s re-invigorated, and every turn is infectious and alluring.”

Spazio Games- 9.2/10
“Forza Motorsport 4 is a rich and multifaceted game that is able to satisfy the appetite of any fan. Two years after the predecessor, the formula remains the same and is not proposing any new structure worthy of note, but the refinements made to the simulation model and the renewed career can awaken interest in the title.” (ROUGH TRANSLATION)

Official Xbox Magazine UK- 9/10
“Forza Motorsport 4 is a racing game that tries to be all things to all people, and you know what? It actually pulls it off.”

Machinima- 9/10
“It may not have the most cars, but it’s certainly the most enjoyable driving simulation experience you’ll find this year.”

Xbox360Achievements- 9.1/10
“Boasting unrivalled visuals, an engaging career mode, fluid, responsive gameplay, and plenty of features to boot, the only real criticism we have is that they possibly haven’t advanced the series as much as we’d have liked them to have done for the fourth iteration.”

Multiplayer.it- 9.1/10
“Forza Motorsport 4 may be an evolution from its third installment, but Turn 10 managed to make almost everything better from its previous efforts. It could be more challenging and rain is still missing, but all in all this is one of the finest racing games ever.”

Telegraph- 9/10
“Welcoming, slick and meticulously built in order to give its audience what it most desires. Because whether it’s the feel of the road, the fury of competition or good old fashioned wish fulfilment, Forza 4 really does have you covered.”

Gamereactor Sweden- 9/10
“Forza 4 is our new racing favourite. Apart from some minor A.I. issues, it’s almost perfect.”

Everyeye.it- 9/10
“Thanks to all the features that have made it big, the renewal of the career, stellar gameplay and a technical state of the art sector, Forza Motorsport 4 confirms the expectations of all, establishing itself as the best driving simulator available on consoles . AI is still not at the top(albeit very close) but is not enough to diminish the immense work of Turn 10, which, for the third time in a row can pack a masterpiece inevitable in any game room.” (ROUGH TRANSLATION)

VideoGamer- 9/10
“Where former entries in the series took themselves a little too seriously, this game likes to humour, dazzle and entertain, losing none of its technical competence but swapping stoic sterility for fun. Forza Motorsport 4 is fiery, passionate and thrilling – much like the 458 Italia on the front cover.”

Metro GameCentral- 9/10
“Achingly beautiful, tyre-shredding action and enough new features to keep the faithful on board. Occasional frustrations, but is easily the most complete racing experience available today.”

Joystiq- 9/10
“The level of synergy between Career and multiplayer feels precise and balanced; one constantly bolsters the other, yet neither take priority or feel parasitic. It’s an equalized, symbiotic relationship that neither hampers nor enables, and players that prefer one over the other need not worry over missing out.”

Games Radar- 9/10
“Forza Motorsport 4 is a big step forward from Forza Motorsport 3 in almost every way. The only flaw is the nonadjustable, overaggressive AI that occasionally makes the game overly frustrating. The pros far outweigh the single con though, and this is the new standard for racing sims.”

Eurogamer- 9/10
“The series’ steely heart has softened, revealing a game that’s as exhaustive as it is exhilarating and that’s now been infused with a little extra passion. Forza has always been a series to admire, but now it’s a little easier to fall in love with it too.”

IncGamers- 9/10
“A massive game boasting near endless replay value alongside all manner of improvements over previous entries in the series. The best racing sim of this generation.”

CVG- 8.7/10
“A fabulously rewarding drive and the finest Forza yet, but one that comes with an Advisory Notice: more single-player focus and diversity will be needed next time out to prevent the franchise from suffering a potential misfire.”

GameSpot- 8.5/10
“Like a new car, Forza Motorsport 4 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it does refine and improve upon what came before it. That’s no small achievement given how truly special Forza 3 was.”

Gamer.no- 8/10
“Forza 4 gives us the most complete experience of all the Forza games. The physics are better, the multiplayer and career modes are improved and there are more cars and tracks than ever before. But there are few truly new features for the racing enthusiast. Where is the dynamic weather and night racing?”
