GAME will no longer sell used Xbox 360s

GAME and Gamestation stores will no longer sell used Xbox 360s, though they still will accept trade-ins. Customers like to buy the new SKUs rather than old used models, a GAME spokesperson told Eurogamer.

He also said older models have “high failure rate” and they won’t be selling them because of the “difficulty and cost of repairing them”. Pre-owned Xbox 360 Core models, Arcades and 20GB non HDMIs will be sold no longer.

“As of Saturday 3rd September we will not be selling Pre-owned Xbox 360 Cores, Arcades and 20GB non HDMIs,” the spokesperson said. “This is due to the high failure rate of the console and the difficulty and cost of repairing them.

“We will continue to trade these consoles in but they will need to be sent back to the DC as a regular faulty return where they will exit the business.”
