Polyphony Digital’s flagship racing sim series may no longer have the brand cachet or guaranteed sales performance as it used to in its heyday- repeated missed deadlines and poor games will tend to do that- but it’s still a major franchise, and the release of every new one an event. We already know that Gran Turismo 7 is in development for the PlayStation 4, and have known so for a while now, but, considering that Gran Turismo 6 just launched last year, we never did expect to see the new entry any time soon.

And yet, DualShockers reckons that we might be about to see the game at the PlayStation Experience this weekend. Of course, their entire reasoning for this is a bit flimsy- they think that the absence of Yamauchi at the PlayStation Awards in Japan last night might have to do with his being in Vegas for the PlayStation Experience- but it’s not unlikely at all.

We’ll see for sure this weekend either way.
