Rockstar Games’ latest magnum opus, Grand Theft Auto V, has launched for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 today, the publisher announced. Not like it needed to, considering the months of pent up hype and anticipation around the title.
“Grand Theft Auto V was a massive undertaking for us, I’m so proud of what the team created,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We cannot wait for people to finally play it.”
The game, which received rave critical reviews yesterday (GamingBolt’s review will be posted shortly), and is anticipated to break (and set) almost all retail records, is the fifth numbered entry in the series after 2008’s Grand Theft Auto IV, and the first to return to fan favorite locale San Andreas in nine years after 2004’s San Andreas.
The game launches today on Xbox 360 and PS3. No other platforms have been announced yet, although a PC version, a PS4 version, an Xbox One version, and a Wii U version are widely anticipated and expected. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more news.
