With each passing day, there remain less and less reasons to buy a Vita- everything that is good on it is either already available on some other platform (more often than not, that other platform plays it better), or gets announced for some other platform.
The latest addition to that long (and growing) list? Gravity Rush. One of the most original and high quality Vita exclusive games released for the system so far, the game was marked for its unique premise, its interesting gameplay mechanics, and its striking art style. And though it did suffer from issues- an atrocious camera, repetition, and a lack of depth to the gameplay, it still remains a flag bearer for the Vita’s beleaguered library.
Well, that may be about to end soon- the Korean software rating board, which has been a reliable source of leaks in the past, has just rated Gravity Rush for the PS4. This means the game is jumping ship to Sony’s console. On the one hand, that’s a good thing- it gets exposed to a larger audience. On the other, it reaffirms that Sony has no more sh*ts to give about the Vita.
Seriously, is there any reason to own it any more? I am just waiting for the inevitable Uncharted: Golden Abyss PS4 port, as well as the digital PS4 remaster of WipEout 2048.
