GRIS Is Already Profitable

The gorgeous and melancholic platformer is already a (well deserved) success.

The stunning and melancholic indie platformer GRIS, which just launched for PC and Nintendo Switch, has apparently been a success for the development team. Nomada Studio today revealed in a tweet that the game is already profitable for them.

Given that the title is their first project, and that it is only out on two platforms (albeit apparently the healthiest ones for indie games), and that it’s not been out all that long, this is pretty impressive. But not undeserved—GRIS is a fantastic game, so no one can begrudge Nomada these sales.

The game, which follows the story of a hopeful young girl lost in a world of her own making, and tackles several hefty subjects such as loss and trauma, can only continue being more and more successful thanks to the great word of mouth. Hopefully, it will also come to PS4 and Xbox One, so even more people can play it.
