GTA Online Banning Players for No Reason After New Update

Well that’s a bit of a problem.

GTA 5 Online

GTA Online’s newest update seems to have messed something up on the backend, because ever since the update went live, players are reporting that they seem to be getting banned without cause. The new update, Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series, seems to have added variables that falsely flag profiles as “cheating” even when they are not doing so.

Hundreds of players have taken to the game’s sub-Reddit and are complaining about bans. Rockstar has responded that it is looking into the issue, which hopefully means that anyone affected by the problem—which can lead to, among other things, your profile and progress being wiped—will hopefully see a resolution soon.

One more thing—for now, this problem is only affecting the PC version of the game. Xbox One and PS4 players are in the clear, so as long as you’re not cheating, you can continue to play the game without having to worry about getting banned on your console.
