The twitter scene has been busy recently in the wake of the embarrassing cancellation of the planned Patch test for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Josh Holmes, Studio Head for Halo 5: Guardians, specifically has been rather busy answering yet more questions about the Beta and a number of other features.
Something that Josh addressed in a three part tweet was the feature that allowed players to shoot grenades out of the air causing them to explode. Speaking about the matter, he said “In beta, when an enemy threw a grenade you could shoot it out of mid air, causing it to explode and (usually) killing them. Ultimately we felt like there wasn’t skill involved so it became a lucky kill for the shooter & an unlucky death for thrower. So we’re taking it out.”
A Twitter user asked Josh if he could explain the intro and Victory sequences, Josh’s reply was, “the tone for them in beta didn’t feel right to us so we’re revisiting.” and “They’ll be even better at launch.” As usual, it would appear that all the feedback from the Beta is being put to good use.
