Halo: Spartan Strike Announced for Windows Devices and Steam

Rejoice! A New Halo game has been announced!

… and then quiet down as you realize it’s not a new major Halo game (I mean, that was already announced last year as Halo 5 anyway, so why would they do that?), but rather, another in an endless line of spin offs. It’s called Halo: Spartan Strike, and it will be releasing on Windows devices (PCs, tablets, and phones running Windows 8 and its variants), as well as Steam, as announced by 343 in an exclusive interview with IGN.

It’ll be a top down twin stick shooter, in the vein of Halo: Spartan Assault that launched last year. It will, obviously, aim to improve on that game, and have a host of whole new features as well.

Some time ago, I would have cried foul at what I would have perceived as dilution of the Halo brand, but at this point in time, I recognize that Halo is almost literally Microsoft’s Mario, so you know what, fine. If you are interested in this game, it will launch on December 12. Stay tuned.
