Heroes of the Storm

Blizzard Entertainment has chosen a rather auspicious day to release updates. First Diablo 3 received patch 2.3.0 which added a bunch of new content for free and now the free to play MOBA Heroes of the Storm has received the eagerly awaited Infernal Shrines battleground.

The map, inspired by Diablo 3, will have three lanes featuring a Punisher demon which can be summoned to hurt the enemy team. Blizzard will be temporarily reducing the normal pool’s map selection for one week in order to allow players to get the Infernal Shrines map more frequently. The map rotation for August 26th to September 2nd will include Infernal Shrines, Battlefield of Eternity, Cursed Hollow, Dragon Shire, Tomb of the Spider Queen and Sky Temple.

Those who still want to experience Blackheart’s Bay, Garden of Terror and Haunted Mines can still find these maps in Custom Games. Just don’t be surprised if they don’t appear in matchmaking.

Check out the Infernal Shrines map today and let us know your thoughts on it in the comments below.
