A great honor for a great man.
Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima will be getting the Hall of Fame award at DICE this year- and, in a very nice touch, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro will be presenting it to him.
Hideo Kojima will be the twenty first inductee into the DICE Hall of Fame- previous inductees have included Shigeru Miyamoto, Will Wright, Yu Suzuki, Dan and Sam Houser, Peter Molyneux, Sid Meier, Mark Cerny, and Gabe Newell.
“Hideo Kojima’s career-defining works have shaped much of how the video game industry approaches cinematic storytelling and player engagement,” said Martin Rae, president, Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. “As one of the most well-loved and well-respected designers of our time, it is a great honor for the Academy to induct him into our Hall of Fame. Hideo is a game creator whose eyes have always looked towards the future, and we look forward to his thoughts on the D.I.C.E. Summit stage.”
I can’t think of very many people more deserving of this honor than Kojima.
