Virtual reality may just be the future of gaming- and if that is so, then no game creator worth their salt want to miss out on the next paradigm shift in gaming, and probably its biggest one since the introduction of polygonal 3D games 20 years ago.

Which is why the announcement that Hideo Kojima, ever the tech savvy auteur, is joining Prologue Immersive in an advisory capacity, where together with co-founder/CEO Kimberly Cooper, he hopes to ride the VR wave, did not take anyone by surprise.

“I’m very excited to hear that masters of the visual arts such as Kyle Cooper and his team are taking on yet another challenge in this digital interactive media that is VR. Through VR, I am certain they will strive to connect films and video games and take us on to that bridge to the future that lies ahead,” said Kojima. “It would be my absolute pleasure to assist the Coopers on this new adventure they are embarking on.

“We can expect a whole new world of entertainment. 2016 will surely be remembered as Year One for VR.”

What Kojima does with VR will be very interesting and exciting to see- especially given how effective he is at finding meaningful applications for tech in games. Maybe we can expect something VR related in Death Stranding?
