Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is known for being a game with a plethora of collectibles to acquire, and the Butterfly Chests have recently garnered attention as one of the more rewarding items to obtain. To complete the ‘Follow the Butterflies’ side quest, your objective is to trace a trail of butterflies leading to the chest’s location.

To begin the quest, you must first speak to Clementine, who can be found in the Three Broomsticks located in Hogsmeade. However, it’s worth noting that completing the Jackdaw’s Rest main quest is a prerequisite to accessing this particular side quest. In this guide, we’ll cover the locations of all Butterfly Chests to help you complete the quest. Let’s get started!

How to find the Butterfly Chests

Before you embark on the ‘Follow the Butterflies’ side quest and find the elusive Butterfly Chests in Hogwarts Legacy, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, the chests won’t be marked on your map, so you’ll have to rely on rumors from NPCs to determine where the butterflies are appearing.

Once you’ve heard about a location, head in that direction and keep an eye out for a flurry of butterflies fluttering about. As you approach, an insect icon will appear on your minimap, guiding you towards the chest. It’s important to note that you won’t be able to find the chests unless you follow the butterflies directly to their location, so keep a keen eye out and follow the fluttering trail to uncover the treasures within the Butterfly Chests.
